You said everything without even moving your lips, when you shook your hand with me

The above sentence sounds a bit skeptic, but it's also obvious.I know that you might be thinking, that "what a simple Handshake will revel about what i want to talk". But Sherlock Holmes knew this very well and he was able to decipher what message was given by one person to other when they shook their hand. To make you understand the power of this gesture, we'll imagine a small situation in which you'll act like Sherlock Holmes.

  Now Sherlock Holmes (that is you) is reading a newspaper and on the front page he see's this image of John Abraham(left) and  Sachin Tendulkar. The newspaper boy who bought the paper was completely wet because it was raining outside and hence the newspaper was also wet.Because of which the news below this image was not clear. The only readable portion had the following information " It was a awesome football match between the team of John Abraham and Sachin Tendulkar" and this image was taken after the match between the two teams was over.

  Now Sherlock Holmes tell me "whose team has won,is it john abraham team or sachin tendulkar??".

So what is your answer by just looking at the above image. By the end of this post i'll make sure that you'll  be able to verify the correct answer on your own.Just imagine how powerful this gesture is because it just gave away the information of who won the match without even reading the news.

  Following are the various handshaking gesture which will help you to understand " What the other person is trying to talk, without even moving his/her lips"

1. Double Hander 

          This is type of handshake where one person hold's the hand of other person by using his both hands 

This type of handshake is given by the people who are having some personal relationship with the other.When you see this gesture between two people we can easily make-out that they have some personal contact with each other and if there isn't any personal contact than the person (single hander) will start feeling irritated.

  Once one of my friend introduced me to his girlfriend and when they both went for shaking hands the boy (my friend) used the double hander gesture and their was a slight irritation on the girls face.This was enough for me to know that their relationship was soon going to end and it was not a surprise for me when it really ended.

2. The vice 

       This type handshake tell's that the other person is bit nervous or anxious and feels that the other person will dominate him and is insecure about the same. hence while engaging in the handshake this person will try to press the hand a bit hard to show that he is dominating.But a excellent observe like Sherlock Holmes will certainly come to know that this person is feared of others dominating him.

  3. The Socket wrencher handshake 

           This is the type of handshake in which the one person try's to tell the other that he is more superior than him and he/she is  dominating the relation between the two. While engaging in this handshake the controller that is the dominating person will drag the hand of other person into his personal space were he feels comfortable and hence he display's his control on the other person .

The person on the left of the above image has clearly shown that he is dominating and controls the relation.In this image the person in left is trying to say that "I AM GOING TO WIN". hey now has you have learned about this gesture, you must be wondering that this image and the first image on this post looks very similar. Yes i am sure that now you can verify your answer on your own.

My intention here is not to teach you all the different handshake and what are their meaning but what i wanted to show you that if you learn about different types of handshake and understand the meaning of each handshake than it will take you  one step closer to become Sherlock Holmes.Finally we must understand that Sherlock Holmes was not born Sherlock Holmes, It was a Journey of becoming Sherlock Holmes.

DEDUCTION BY OBSERVING HANDS  

Many a times we have seen Sherlock Holmes creating excellent deductions just by observing the hands and area near the hands of his client's and other people he have just meet. Hence let's start our journey of becoming Sherlock Holmes from the deduction of hands.

    How would you feel if i told you that by observing hands you can tell whether the person is lying or telling the truth,what if i told you that by observing hands you can tell who is the dominating partner in a relationship and what if i told you that just by looking at hands you can deduce whether the person is aggressive or submissive. I am sure you'll be thinking how is this possible?. So let's check it out .

    Studies have shown that the connection that our brain has with our hands is much more than any other part of our body, hence we easily give away the emotional insight of what we are thinking.

other that body-language, Graphology is also used to study the character of a person. In order to deduce excellent information by observing hands, we should always look for the position of hands which can be divided into three categories as follows

           When ever you are talking to a person always have an eye, whether he's  talking with palms open or closed,Open palms are always used by people you are telling truth or trying to be honest and open to your idea's. Suppose that you are investigating a case like Sherlock Holmes and interrogating a witness and for every question you asked he replies with palm closed or hiding his palms in his pocket this will clearly give a signal that there is high possibility that he is misdirecting you and if he tell with palms exposed than it makes certain that he has given all the information as per his knowledge.
The best place to observe this gesture is during a fight between a couple where one is trying to give explanation to other. you can also see this gesture during the interview's of politicians and movie stars and can easy tell what are they really feeling, like a Sherlock Holmes .
        Palms facing up or down gives us a signal regarding the status of a person with another person .Imagine that you are sitting in a restaurant  and having dinner with your loved one's and talking with them but suddenly the waiter comes near to you and tells you that " please talk by making less noise " and while telling this he is using a palm down gesture. What will be your reaction. yes you'll become hostile because this feels like a person with lower status than you is trying to order you, but if the same waiter uses palm up position with the same word's and same tone than i am sure that you'll be more than humble to agree to what he is asking for because it will be like he is requesting you and not ordering you. This palm up and down also can be used to understand the status of two people in a relation ship. To prove my point just look at the below picture and try to find out

To help you out, just do one thing look at their hands and imagine that they are holding the hands same way but in horizontal position, now you can see that the person having the hand in front of other person is similar to that of palm facing down which clearly show that he or she is having upper status or i can simply say that he or she dominates in the relationship
In the first picture you can see that the male is leading the women and in the second picture the women is leading the relationship. i am sure that now you can make out who is dominating whom whenever you see a couple walking on streets.
Pointing finger to someone is similar to the act of giving a punch the only difference is that instead of physically hitting a person you'll hit him or her through your words this gesture is very common politicians are having debate.When ever you see this kind of gesture it clearly signal's that the person is getting aggressive. you can also see that finger pointing gesture is used in reality show's like BIG BOSS and SPLITS VILLA ........

Journey of becoming “SHERLOCK HOLMES”

       

     I still remember the mind-boggling reaction of Watson when Sherlock Holmes tells him about his war in Afghanistan and about his alcoholic brother. After watching it, i started thinking that what if I had skills like Sherlock Holmes and than an obvious question came  “ is it really possible ?“. With this question constantly tingling in my mind in every walk of my life I started some small research on internet. There were many blogs and many article’s but non was satisfactory. Every blog or article just told that u need to increase your observation you need to be more alert and all those kind of bullshit  but never told anything related to deduction or how to start. I kept my research going and started to read about the author Conan Doyle. After reading about Conan Doyle, for the first time I felt that “yes it is possible to think like Sherlock Homes”. Then I came across people who call themselves MENTALIST, these were the people with combined skills of magician, hypnotism, body language and subliminal suggestion. After watching some of their video I become certain that if Sherlock Holmes was for real than he would  have atleast something in common with these people.To prove my point have a look at the below video 

Yes you are right their skill looks very close to Sherlock.

     Now the question is where we can start the JOURNEY of becoming Sherlock Holmes. The obvious answer came was               “ become an expert in reading body language”  because they all have excellent skills of reading body languge….and thus the journey began . In my future post I’ll be sharing my research on body language and connecting it to skills of Sherlock Holmes.
