Deduction based on SMILE

There are many human gesture which give us insight into emotional state  of  that particular person. But one of the most interesting gestures is SMILE of humans because it not only tells the emotional state but is also used to influence other people. Let’s checkout how and what can we deduce just by observing SMILE …

If one has to learn the deduction from smiles then the best way to start would be by understanding the knowledge of muscles which control the smile…(don’t worry I am not going to teach biology).

Well this is what is below the skin of our face, we call them has muscles.

As marked in the image the muscles concerned with the smile are Orbicularis and zygomatic muscle. From the image you can notice that Majority of the zygomatic muscle is around mouth and most of the orbicularis muscle is near eyes,

It is very obvious that the gestures and movements which are involuntary are natural. Example: your heart beat when you are relaxed it’s normal when you are running it’s pumping like hell. Similarly Orbicularis muscle near the Eyes are mostly involuntary and when a person smiles a clear movement can be seen in these muscle. On the other hand zygomatic muscle are used to create a fake smile because they can be controlled consciously . Example: you just try to smile by pulling your lips, if you did so and looked in the mirror you can see a smile similar to the below image.
So a clear deduction that can be made from such smile that “ the person is faking”. One more clue of the fake smile can be seen when we see that one of the side of the face is pulled more than the other. In the above picture the left side is pulled more than the right one.

Where as when we give a genuine smile you’ll observe that the muscle near the lips as well as eyes are pulled outward

By using this simple knowledge you can try to detect if the smile is real or fake.

But This is it not all if you really want to learn more deduction by observing smiling faces than please follow the blog. In the next post I’ll give more clues to detect real and fake smile and by the end of these series of post on smile you can deduce a real and fake smile, different feeling associated with smile like joy, fear and irritation. By the end I’ll let you know how a smile can be used to influence other people followed by a test to check how good you are now in deduction from smile.
